MY ENGLISH IS POOR!![](static/image/smiley/default/000.gif)
“Blade: Hand forged 52100 carbon steel with a low temp triple quench and triple temper for high performance edge retention
Description: Ed's knives are the hallmark of a perfect hunter. The Fawn is designed for exacting attention to detail. This one was created to be most comfortable in a left handed hold. This knife is in new condition and has been in a private collection and meticulously cared for. It has never been used to cut.
Each knife is pre-tested for edge flex and cutting ability before assembly. The heat treat has been proven to create some of the sharpest and most long lasting edges found anywhere.
The blade was forged from 52100 steel. This is a high carbon, high chrome steel in a very pure form and results in a knife steel that is as good as it gets. The blade is forged at low temperature and starts from 5 1/2" round bars. It is subjected to a minimum of 30 low temp thermal cycles, which requires a lot of hammer work. The blade was carefully hardened three times using a differential hardening technique developed by Ed for this steel. Triple tempered to push the steel to the limit, these blades are easy to sharpen, yet hold an edge better than any I have tested.
The sheep horn handle fits comfortably into the hand. When wet, sheep horn does not become slippery, and it is amazingly durable. The spacer is created by taking two sheep horn end cuts and aligning them outward, producing a very pleasing effect. Excellent fit and finish throughout.”
