Vintage Imperial Tai Pan Limited Edition Collector's Knife was produced in the early 1990's and Limited to 500 pieces. This knife has silk cord-wrapped handle with a underlay base of "same" ( ray skin), stainless steel guard and pommel, and a 7 1/2" 161 layer Stainless San Mai Damascus steel blade. engraved Serial #196 of 500 made. It measures about 13" overall and comes with a black genuine leather sheath.Originally the company intended to make 1,000 of these knives, but ended the production run at 500 because the quality specifications on the Imperial were so high that they were very costly to produce.
