I took a look at the pictures and it is difficult to tell for sure if the knife was sharpened. I don’t think it was. I believe it came from the Buck factory as you see it. Sometimes the serial numbering was not as deep. The pocket on the inlay for the gold emblem varies due to the varying thickness of the stag used. Some are very deep and some are not. The knife appears to be genuine to me, and a very hard knife to find today.
The first number of the serial number is the BCCI member number. That means that member number 612 bought one of the 250 knives. I hope this makes sense?
